  • Thanks a lot Mike.
I was impressed with your web page, and I also liked the "musical" browsing. I was getting frustrated about finding some place on the net where one could find such help, and then I surfed up ya'lls beach.
After I e-ed you, I got to poking around and did locate the drum end bearing, and that sucker was worn OUT.
Thanks again, and I'll get your way soon to catch the MIDI sounds, and poke around the wonderful world of large appliances.
    Thanks again,
    Mark

  • I really like this newsletter. It addressed my current concern of the dryer taking to long to dry clothes. I sent you a letter a few months ago about a leak in my refrigerator. Your diagnosis was 100% correct and your solution was also right on target. I'm not very handy, but I was able to fix it myself. Thanks for your help and this service.
    Bill

  • Surfing through Bob Vila's "BBS" and saw a problem with a refrigerator icemaker, your address was listed as a source of help. I'm entering your website in my home folder for future use. Thanks,

  • Home-owners and do-it-yourselfers like me sometimes need more than a 'Reader's Digest repair manual" to keep things running. Last month the washer, tonight the electric stove. Within 5 minutes of the problem, I'm clicking a bookmark and e-mailing for help. I feel like I "know someone in the business"! Keep up the good work and free advice - I'm surrounded by more appliances waiting for their chance to test my patience and my wallet!

  • Mike,
Just some feedback on your web marketing and business.
You guys are doing a terrific job and your business is going to grow very rapidly. I advise many small businesses here in California and try to show them how a basic business can attract and "keep" customers through service, pricing and information. Your operation seems to be doing that very well and I want to commend you on it.
You may not be the next amazon.com, (and they are still not really making any big bucks yet) but you will see the growth and profits a lot sooner. I will help by using your site and follow up techniques as a fine example of web marketing.
    Regards,

  • I just wanted to say thanks for the information on replacing the belt on our Kenmore(Whirlpool) washing machine. If it wasn't for my wife finding your page the washer would have been out in the back yard by now.

  • Thank you for your prompt and helpful reply to my question. You have an excellent site and service here. Sites like yours demonstrate the real usefulness of the Internet, as opposed to all of the " Look at my cat Whiskers" stuff that, frankly, makes the on-line community look like morons.
    Keep up the great work.

  • This is a very helpful web site. In the past I have purchased parts from Garrell's Appliance. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. Great service and a great web site!

  • Hi Mike,
The probe (1.08K ohms) arrived yesterday and I was able to install it this evening. The F4 error message has disappeared and dinner was delicious. I did pull the oven away from the bulkhead in order to insure that the plastic connection was well behind the rear fire wall. That all went well and we're back in business.

Thank you for taking such good care of us. This mode of doing business over the Internet certainly has it's advantages at times.

    Best regards,
    Capt. Jim B.

  • I just want to THANK YOU for your reply about a problem I HAD with my Whirlpool refrigerator:

"Water is accumulating in the refrigerator compartment. It appears to be dripping from the freezer compartment."

Your diagnosis of a clogged defrost drain was absolutely correct!!! The steps you wrote to solve this problem were clear and accurate. I used a hairdryer to melt the ice that had formed on the bottom of the evaporator pan, defrost drain hole, and funnel. It took about an hour to complete this repair.
Thanks again for this $700.00 solution. (Estimate was based upon the cost of a new refrigerator).
    Timothy Y.

  • Mike the Pro!
The very first thing that clicked when you said the dryer would run with 120 volts was the fuses. A total of $2.68 solved that problem. Guess what, I totally outsmarted myself on this one. It's fixed! Thanks Mike ! Watch the postal service mail from Alabama, Santa just may come early.

  • Mike,
Thanks for the expert advice. I try to use the web only for the forces of good and finding a site like yours reaffirms my faith in mankind. I hope that I am able to repay your favor. Thanks again.

  • It is enjoyable to see a most progressive Service operation who is more than ready to truly provide a full service support package for the consumer. A well thought out presentation for the users. Well Done ! As I am surfing from home and don't have an Authorized Service Depot listing handy, if you are not already established with W.C. Wood Company, I would appreciate hearing from you. Keep doing what you're doing.

  • Hey thanks alot for your quick reply. Thank god there are others out there like you willing to give advice and help save a person from spending money they don't need to. We found that it was the water inlet valve that was the problem instead of 50 to 75 bucks to fix it was only 17 ....thanks a lot for your help and quick reply back.
    Thanks,
    Terry

  • Dear Mike,
Problem solved. Don't know what we would have done without you. Thanks a bunch!

  • Hello Mike! A BIG "Thank you" from my family to you!!!!!!!

  • Mike, I followed your advice and I found LBS of lint in the dryer behind the front cover just below where the lint screen is. The dryer now works fantastic. Not only did you save me the cost of a service call, but my electric bill will go down as well. I've added your website to my list of favorite places. If I run into any problems that require parts I will order them from you!! Thank you very much for your assistance.

  • Just wanted to drop a note of thanks, your diagnosis was right on the money. In 10 minutes, my dishwasher was back in use.

  • Dear Mike,
Thanks for your quick reply on the matter of my dishwasher. So often inquiries made through the Internet are left unanswered unless there is a quick buck to be made by answering. Even though I didn't like the answer (dynamite is cheaper) I am most appreciative of your quick reply. It's nice to see that there are still some quality business people around . Obviously the easiest way is just to replace the machine with another and if I wasn't so far away I would certainly buy it from you. I'd travel 100 miles to do this but not 1000 miles. Thanks again and I am sure that with your quality service and personnel your business will always be successful.
    Sincerely,
    Neil N.

  • Just wanted to say THANKS again for the info. I printed it out and left it where my husband would find it. He did and HURRAY my washer is now working again. Well, have a good one. and thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi,
Just wanted to let you know that I greatly appreciate being able to find instructions for changing the belt on our ancient Sears Kenmore washing machine.
The process is fraught with peril for the uninitiated, as I discovered when I couldn't figure out where the little ball bearing went, and decided that it "probably wasn't too important!" Your instructions helped me correct my mistake.
If anyone questions how effective your Web Page is in promoting your business, you are welcome to use this - I will definitely check with you when I need parts for anything you carry..
    Thanks again,

    Thank you for your reply.
I will perform the check of the Lid Switch tomorrow and get back to you. I really appreciate your Ask A Tech service..
If the problem turns out to be a part which I am able to replace, I will check with you for part availability before buying from anyone else. I hope everyone that takes advantage of you free Ask A Tech service buys their parts from you as well!

  • Thank you so much for your help. We contacted Whirlpool's Customer Assistance number and they could not help us. It's amazing that independents can, but the manufacturer cannot help. We fixed the handle. It was simple, just like your directions indicated. Perhaps you could suggest to the factory that they implement a help line such as you have.
Let me know if I can sing your praises to anyone.

  • Thanks for the quick reply Mike,

  • Mike -- Thank you _very_ much for what seemed to me like a fast reply. I guess I wasn't expecting such a quick turnaround during the holiday week; I just wanted to get our question sent the minute we found your page!
I really appreciate your response, and your advice. I don't think we're at the point quite yet of ordering a new part (the thermostat); we'll probably try a more sophisticated thermometer first. But if/when we do consider replacing anything, we'll contact Garrell's straightaway!
Thanks again for your time and your advice, and we hope you have a wonderful holiday season!
